I Mass of the Fermenting Dregs were born as an all female band in Kobe, Japan, in 2002. The distinctive name, which in Italian sounds like mass of fermenting leftoversis simply a collection of words that the original members of the line-up liked. Despite several lineup changes, the trio made a name for themselves with their melodic guitar-driven sound - inspired by The Smashing Pumpkins, Sugar e The Wedding Present - and powerful live shows that overwhelm audiences. This mix of factors has made them one of Japan's most innovative and fascinating alternative rock bands, with admirers all over the world. Their latest record release is the fifth studio album Awakening:Sleepingpublished in August 2022.
