Peter Cincotti returns to Italy with a highly anticipated new album and a tour not to be missed. In addition to the dates already announced, they are adding another very important stop with a double set at the Blue Note in Milan Tuesday 5 December. The young New York pianist and songwriter will also delight audiences Tuesday 12 December at Teatro Puccini in Florence, Wednesday 13 December at Auditorium Parco della Musica in Rome, Thursday 14 December at Modo in Salerno and Friday 15 December at Teatro Forma in Bari. You can buy i tickets on the circuits indicated for each concert. Be wary of unofficial sales channels.
Born in New York but with undeniable Italian roots, Cincotti spent much of his childhood going to school during the day and playing in clubs at night. Legendary producer Phil Ramone was there one of those nights, which led to Ramone producing Cincotti's debut album, which reached number one on the Billboard jazz chart, making the then 18-year-old Cincotti the youngest person to achieve this. Since then, Peter has performed in the world's most prestigious venues, from Carnegie Hall to L'Olympia in Paris, and has collaborated with artists of all genres and backgrounds, from Andrea Bocelli to David Guetta. Along the way, his lively writing style caught the attention of 16-time Grammy Award winner David Foster, who produced Cincotti's third album East of Angel Town.
Long Way From Home is the title of the new album by Peter Cincotti, out on 13 October. Written, arranged and produced by Cincotti himself over a period of two years, 'Long Way from Home' contains 12 tracks in which the musician naturally mixes pop, rock, blues and jazz in his unique and unmistakable style. It is his most personal album to date, and compared to his previous works "Long Way From Home" incorporates a more rhythmic piano playing with a pop bent. "Never before have I used the piano in this way. A few years ago I started having ideas for an album that would bring a more active, more rhythmic piano into the landscape of modern music," Cincotti said. If you tried to mix Billy Joel, Oscar Peterson and One Republic, the result would be something very close to this work.
Cincotti moved to the Jersey Shore to do this project and of this experience he explains: "At one point, every time I went to sleep, a new song would appear in every dream. So I would wake up and write. Several tracks on this album were written in this way. I got to a point where it didn't feel like I was composing, but writing what I perceived to already be there."
