The guitarist and songwriter rock-blues Popa Chubby will perform Monday 11 November 2019 at Largo Venue of Rome to present his album Prime Cuts - The very best from the beast from the eastpublished in 2018 as a celebration of his 30 years career. During his live Popa Chubby will play the tracks contained in his latest album, which is emblematic for understanding the guitarist's musical journey. The cover itself is in fact a cow subdivided like a map; similarly, the guitarist's career is summed up in this collection of fifteen tracks that narrate every aspect of his unique style. On the album, one can find tracks from the early period, two previously unreleased, Go Fuck Yourself e There On Christmasand even the now well-known covers of Hallelujah by Leonard Cohen and Hey Joe by Jimi Hendrix.
Ted Horowitzin art Popa Chubbyis one of the guitarists rock-blues most popular and beloved in our country. He was born in New York, where he played with his first band punk also passing through the historic CBGB. He later changed his horizons, maintaining the blues as a base, creating an unmistakable style that he calls "the Stooges encountering Buddy Guy, i Motörhead encountering Muddy Waters, e Jimi Hendrix encountering Robert Johnson".
Opening the concert will be the Superdownhome: a power-duo dedicated to a torrid and disruptive rural-blues formed by Henry Sauda (vocals, electric guitar, cigar box and diddley bow) and Beppe Facchetti (bass drum, snare drum, low boy and crash) has been collaborating for some years with Popa Chubby which in 2019 produced their third album Get My Demons Straight. Already in 2018 the Superdownhome had opened the six concerts of the bluesman's Italian tour.
