Primus, one of the most eccentric bands on the international rock scene since the 1990s, return to Italy after a three-year absence for a one-off date: Saturday 13 June 2015 at Carroponte in Sesto San Giovanni (MI). Tickets available on the circuit Ticketonesoon also in sales outlets Vivaticket.
In addition to historical pieces such as 'Wynona's Big Brown Beaver' and 'My Name Is Mud', the band of Les Claypool will present his latest madness: the second part of the concert will be dedicated to tracks from the new album "Primus & The Chocolate Factory With The Fungi Ensemble". (ATO Records, 2014), revisiting the soundtrack of the film "Willy Wonka and the chocolate factory"(1971), starring Gene Wilder as the mad Wonka.
'Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory' has been one of frontman Les Claypool's favourite films since childhood, so much so that Primus dedicated an entire show to it on New Year's Eve 2013. The atmospheres of the film perfectly fit the band's eccentric style, and within a very short time the trio entered the recording studio in Rancho Relaxo, Les Claypool's home in California, and 'Primus & The Chocolate Factory With The Fungi Ensemble' (ATO Records, 2014), the band's eighth album, was born.
"Our project is an homage to Gene Wilder and David L. Wilder's 'Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory'. Wolper, and the repercussions it had on my childhood"., states Claypool. "We are now selling Primus chocolate bars and walking around accompanied by crazy Oompa Loompas. Plus, I now have a good excuse to wear a purple velvet waistcoat and a brown top hat for the next 18 months".
Primus are Les Claypool (vocals, bass), Larry "Ler" LaLonde (guitar) and Tim "Herb" Alexander (drums), accompanied by long-time collaborators Mike Dillon (marimba, percussion) and Sam Bass (cello) under the name Fungi Ensemble.
