PUBLIC SERVICE BROADCASTING, IN ITALY THE UK REVELATION BETWEEN ELECTRONICA AND POST-ROCK

J. Willgoose, Esq. e Wrigglesworth, these are the pseudonyms behind the acronym Public Service Broadcastingare the creators of an unprecedented concept: combining electronic effects, analogue instrumentation and voices sampled from old propaganda films and British documentaries from the 1930s onwards. The UK's revelation duo will perform for the first time in Italy on 26 October at the Auditorium Parco della Musica in Rome and on 27 October at Salumeria della Musica in Milan.

Opening with math rock from the Marche region of ItalyLush Rimbaud.

The PSB's first full-length, "Inform - Educate - Entertain, published in May 2013, debuted at the #21 in the UK selling over 15,000 copies in 9 weeks. A success unanimously decreed by the public and critics, with awards from the major trade press - from The Guardian at Artrocker Magazinenaming the record ''.album of the month" - and two dates sold out at the Underground Village in London.

The motto of J. Willgoose, Esq., mind of the project PSBand the trusty companion Wrigglesworthis simple but ingenious: 'teaching the lessons of the past through the music of the future". A formula that the band put into practice by retrieving from the sound archives of British national television the most disparate material, from footage celebrating the UK as an air and sea power, to documentaries about climbing Everest.

The speakers' voices, coming from a past world that no one can remember, are then grafted onto the bases created by the duo in a flow of electro beats, guitar arpeggios and banjo and percussion, creating an evocative and alienating effect.

In the live dimension, the group's proposal takes on the character of a performance involving sound and image, thanks to the use of a series of vintage audiovisual equipment that transmits films and visuals in perfect symbiosis with the music.
