Daughter of an Italian from Barga, the same Tuscan town from which she comes Paolo Nutini, Rachel Sermanni is an atypical 23-year-old who grew up in the middle of the woods listening to the records of Eva Cassidy, Simon & Garfunkel e Nick Drake. Very young, in just four years she has become a little veteran of the live circuit, with countless performances at concerts of Elvis Costello, Mumford & Sons, John Grant, Ron Sexsmith, The Staves, Rumer e Fink.
Two albums under their belt and the latest "Tied To The Moon'published last July and conceived in solitude during a short stay at the home of Old Man LuedeckeCanadian banjo star and two-time winner of the Juno Awards.
Acclaimed by Mojo ("Minimal, murky, magnificent'), The Observer ("One of Britain's most promising folk artists" ) and Uncut ("Sophisticated storytelling" ) among many, the new work by this enchanting balladeer The Scottish writer talks about childhood, femininity, instinct and inhibition, with an approach reminiscent of classic PJ Harvey, Tom Waits e Joni Mitchellwith dark undertones in the lyrics and a more rock attitude.
