"I had a dream which is a huge thing: at my birthday party/concert in Milan there were so many people singing with me. I was wearing shiny clothes, because heaven forbid that sobriety should come knocking at my door and find me predisposed to simplicity. Life isn't simple either, is it? And when it comes to laying bare, you'd better start with the good clothes.
With me were my fellow travellers, whom I call the Inhumans. Real musicians and allies, the kind everyone deserves in life, at least once.
I cried and laughed in metric, and spoke as if it were my last day on earth. I felt understood. How nice to be understood!
I lived that dream savouring every moment, repeating to myself "Romì, e carpelo 'sto diem!" And it was a caress that made me make peace with the sacrifices of a lifetime, with my hopes as a child, those held up with spit, with the stories that cannot be told, but neither can they be forgotten.Then, the applause at the end almost stunned me.
Wait, it really happened!
And the beauty of this crazy life is that it gives me the opportunity to do it again, and do it again. Here are the dates I have found with my compatriots, serial gamblers like me.
I will be blunt, visceral, shameless. Grotesque. There will be monologues and lots of songs. I am preparing a show that will be like a marathon. Consider yourselves sequestered. Hold me tight, because otherwise I'll get all torn up. I'll be waiting and trembling."
