The 16 April Charades, a single with which the Sativa Rosepresent themselves to the public with a new line-up and soundtrack. The artistic production of the track is by Federico Dragona of the Ministri and Enea Bardi.

Charade deals with a complex topic, that of social acceptance and personal affirmation, filtered through the lens of social networks. But the contemporary, catchy, direct sound makes the song easy to enjoy, despite the subject matter.

Charades is about two profoundly different people, connected to each other through a social platform. At the centre of it all is the dissatisfaction generated by the continuous and insane confrontation with the other, which, however, exhausts, crumbles, in the special in the song. "And the rest is all appearance" sings the voice of Sativa Rose, and everything comes apart, the need to appear, the need for confrontation, the need to live up to what collective opinion expects of us. Bringing everything back to a more intimate, more empathetic condition.

Sativa Rose is the name of a duo of Roman musicians. But it is also a name chosen as an act of protest, a break with the preservation of social taboos, hence the choice to use the name of a porn star.

Sative Rose was born from a need: that of communicating certain feelings in order to exorcise them. Like that of dissatisfaction, of non-acceptance, but also of redemption. Of the courage to carry on one's own identity despite 'the rest'.

Sativa Rose is a project that has changed shape over the years to arrive at the synthesis of sound and formation that is presented to us today with Sciarada. Halfway between the more electronic sounds of Battiato and the more contemporary independent music of i Cani, with some sound connections to Pop X, Sativa Rose are now Alessio Mazzeo and Massimiliano Santori.

In an initial formation, the project was divided into four elements, but the need to make everything more versatile, dynamic and direct led to the duo with which they present themselves today.

Although the sound is extremely in line with the contemporary, one cannot fail to intercept, especially in the arrangements, references to classical music and jazz.

Sativa's lyrics are veritable points of observation on the world, within which one finds everything from relational dynamics to existential difficulties linked to both the more everyday aspects of life and the more complex ones. Characterised by the use of allegories and direct speech, used to create a more intimate environment, more interpretive on the part of the listener. Sativa's lyrics always have two reading keys, the direct, more superficial one, for first listening, and the deeper one, for a more attentive ear.
