No faces, no names, just lots of music and irony.
They are The Cyborgs, a power duo more unique than rare in the Italian music scene.
After having released their self-titled album, having been the protagonists of a summer tour and a European tour and having enjoyed great critical and public success, they begin 2012 by continuing the tour that will touch the main Italian cities and that in February will give them the opportunity to open the Italian concerts of the great Johnny Winter.
"Save your face Tour" continues...
No one has ever seen them, no one knows their faces or their names. They call themselves simply "0" e "1", like the symbols of the binary system. "0" plays guitar and is the duo's voice, which, thanks to a microphone built into the mask, seems to come straight from a spaceship. "1" does everything else: bass, keyboards and drums. At a time when everything is based on appearance, here are two masked strangers who choose to remain anonymous, wearing a welder's mask and putting only the music in the foreground, which is enough to stir the conscience. Music defined by them as 'electrofunkblues': the past taken up in a futurist key. The blues of its origins, the black music that revolutionised the world's art scene between the 1930s and 1960s, re-proposed in a modern, up-to-date key, without forgetting that it has had to go through many vicissitudes since then. All this with the help of old tools, drums and anything that can bring them closer to the original sound of the genre. Two aliens from outer space with a single mission: to return to simplicity by eliminating the superfluous. Starting with their own image.
Already known for their original live performances in almost every club in Rome and at major Italian and European blues festivals, The Cyborgs have released their self-titled debut album on the label INRIelectrocuted by their primitive and dirty blues music. Summer 2011 took them to many other Italian cities, from Vigevano as supporters of Jeff Beck until theItaly Wave of Lecce, where they immediately attracted the curiosity of XL e Rai Music. In September, the first video of 'Dancy' premiered on Wired.co.ukand then placed in rotation on RockTv, Deejay TV, Virgin Tv and the entire Rai circuit.
With the support of the Italian dates of Eric Sardinas began the Save Your Face Tourwhich has allowed The Cyborgs to win over an adult, attentive, and passionate audience and attract more and more interest from the press, such as Il Venerdì, Vanity Fair, Tg1 and major newspapers and blogs, to the point of being selected by the Arezzo Wave Foundation to participate in Eurosonic 2012.
