I Arctic Sonata, the Finnish quintet that is one of the leading names in the European metal scene, return to Italy two years after their last performance to present their new album, due out in March 2014. The band will be the 28 April at Live Club in Trezzo sull'Adda (MI).
This is the band's message to European fans: "Hi everyone, it's been a while since we last toured Europe, so we are very happy to be able to announce the first tour that will accompany our new album. Since the album will be released in March 2014, we won't waste any time and we will go straight into the new tour, which will start in Eindhoven (Netherlands) on 10 April. We can't wait to play the new tracks for you and introduce you to our new bass player Pasi. He is a monster musician live. See you in a few months!"
The line-up, formed in 1996 in Kemi, Finland, as a hard rock band under the name Tricky Beans, undertook a radical change of direction in 1999. After changing their monicker to the current one, the band oriented their sound in the direction of symphonic power metal under the influence of fellow countrymen and friends Stratovarius. The melodies on the keyboards and the vocal style of the singer Tony Kakkocapable of alternating falsetto and tenor, immediately became a trademark of the band, thanks to albums such as the debut 'Ecliptica" (1999), "Reckoning Night"(2004, their most acclaimed record to date, marking the beginning of their association with the legendary label Nuclear Blast), and the latest "Stones Grow Her Name" (2012).
I Arctic Sonata are Tony Kakko (voice), Elias Viljanen (guitar), Tommy Portimo (battery), Pasi Kauppinen (bass) and Henrik Kingenberg (keyboard).
