A long-awaited return for lovers of folk, country and blues: five years after his last appearance in our country, the American songwriter Steve Earle returns to Italy for three summer dates as an acoustic act.Steve Earle will be 29 July in Pusiano (CO) at the Municipal Park for the Buscadero Day, 30 July in Sestri Levante (GE) at the Teatro della Conchiglia within the framework of the Mojotic Festival, 31 July in Faenza (RA), Piazza Nenni for the festival Blue Streets.
Steve Earlewas born in 1955 in Virginia but spent his childhood in Texas and began playing guitar and composing songs as a young boy. In 1974, Earle moved to Nashville, Tennessee, where he met the leading musicians active on the city's scene, such as the legendary songwriters Townes Van Zandt - who becomes his mentor as well as his friend - and Guy Clarke.
The influence of these artists is evident on Earle, who in 1986 released his debut album 'Guitar Town", characterised by western and folk sounds so much so that it was immediately defined as 'new country'. The album was followed by a number of releases surprising in their variety, from the biting hard rock of "Copperhead Road"(1988), to the minimalist beauty of "Train A Comin"(1995), up to the masterpiece "Jerusalem"marked by a strong political component, and the albums 'The Revolution Starts...Now" (2004), "Washington Square Serenade" (2007) e "Townes"(2009), which won a Grammy Award. In 2011, Steve Earle released the album "I'll Never Get Out Of This World Alive"which is also the title of his first novel: his prose has been described by Patti Smith "rich in the same authenticity, poetic spirit and moving energy that is also in his music'.
The tracks of Steve Earle have been interpreted over the years by the likes of Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson, The Pretenders, Joan Baez. His latest album is '.The Low Highway"published in April 2013.
