The American singer released his new album "Metropolis' last 22 May, successor to that 'East of Angel Town' which made him known worldwide in 2007.
The single 'Goodbye Philadelphia' also brought him to the top of the Italian charts and his concerts showed his more artistic side.
Peter Cincotti is in fact a composer of absolute calibre, as well as a superb musician, capable of unleashing his class live, thanks to a style that knows how to mix pop with jazz, soul and swing.
With a surname like his, it is not difficult to trace Italian ancestry. "My paternal grandfather was from Naples, my grandmother from Piacenza, so I breathed the scent of this land from an early age. Although my family has lived in New York (where I was born) for two generations, I grew up in contact with Italian traditions, assimilating some of its values'.
A child prodigy, Cincotti began taking piano lessons at the age of four, devoting himself not only to classical music (which he would study a few years later at the Manhattan School of Music with teachers such as Ellis Marsalis), but also ranging from soundtracks to Jerry Lee Lewis's 'Boogie Woogie' record. At the age of nine he was composing and at fifteen he began performing in New York clubs. He showed a particular sensitivity towards jazz and four years later recorded his first CD 'Peter Cincotti' in which he reinterpreted classics such as 'Over The Rainbow'.
