Chris e Rich Robinson of The Black Crowes celebrate the 30th anniversary of their historic debut album Shake Your Money Makerfive times platinum, with a UK and Europe tour starting on 10 October at the 3Arena in Dublin. The tour will continue through Europe and the UK and will arrive in Italy Tuesday 10 November, with a single date at the Mediolanum Forum in Assago (Milan). I nominal tickets will be on sale on authorised circuits Ticketone, Ticketmaster e Vivaticket from 9 a.m. on Friday 7 Februarywith an official presale dedicated to the band's fan club that will open at 9 a.m. on Wednesday 5 February.
The Black Crowes will play their debut album in its entirety along with the other greatest hits from the band's long career. The Robinson brothers have not performed together in the UK since 2013, when they vowed never to play or speak to each other again. Fortunately for their fans, time has healed those wounds.
Chris Robinson says of the reunion: "I'm thrilled and happy to be playing with my brother to celebrate the music we wrote and reconnect. Long live Rock n' Roll and the Black Crowes!".
Rich Robinson he adds: 'First of all, I am very happy to have my brother back in my life. Being able to play together again to celebrate the first album we recorded when we were kids is a real gift. I never imagined that these songs would remain popular after 30 years."
In 1990, when corny pop and hair metal dominated the charts and the press mourned the death of rock, The Black Crowes came from Atlanta to kick the genre's ass with Shake Your Money Maker. Thanks to the individuals Jealous Again, Twice As Hard, She Talks To Angels and the light-hearted Otis Redding cover Hard To Handlethe band immediately conquered the rock world, topping the Best New American Band Readers Poll by Rolling Stone at the end of 1990.
The Black Crowes have released eight more studio albums and four live albums, selling tens of millions of copies. They have collected sold-out shows all over the world, hosted the colossal Jimmy Page guitar, they were kicked off a tour with the ZZ Top for insulting a sponsor, they got ripped off by dishonest record deals, they got married and divorced, they argued with each other and the rest of the world. In other words, they did everything a legendary rock band should do. The 2020 reunion will surely serve to cement the legacy of the Black Crowes as one of the best-loved rock bands of all time.
