THE DEARS- FOUR DATES IN ITALY IN NOVEMBER

New spearhead of the Canadian rock scene, the The Dearsled by the charismatic leader Murray Lightburn (vocals and guitar), come out in August (26th is the date for Europe) with a new album 'Gang of Losers' the third full-length of their career, successor to the successful 'No cities left' of 2004.
Their tour will touch down in Italy with four dates in November: Rome, Milan, Treviso and Rimini. The band will be hitting European stages from 9 August until September with a series of dates at various festivals in Scandinavia, Ireland, England and Scotland.
The second part of the European tour resumes on 26 October from London, where the popularity of the five Canadians is very high, then Germany and Italy.

The music of The Dears is rooted in the sound of the 1990s, and it was at the end of that decade that the band established itself as one of the most promising acts on the international scene. Their debut album 'End of a Hollywood bedtime stories' (2000) shows their poetic-narrative side, mixing pop music with orchestral elements. After the release, the band's live activity grew considerably and they became one of the reference bands for the whole new generation in their homeland. The EP 'Orchestral Pop Noir Romantique'(2001), conceived by Lightburn as an imaginary sound track.
'Summer of Protest' (ep, 2002) marks a change of attitude: the band, shaken by the events surrounding the G8, abandons its decadent mood and approaches more socio-politically committed compositions. The band's live image also changes radically. The long jackets give way to helmets and megaphones.

With 'No Cities Left' the Canadian combo enjoyed great success, especially in England. The album, released at the turn of 2003-2004, reintroduces elements from the early days, such as the noir soul, mixed with the charge of the previous EP. This work can certainly be regarded as the most successful work for Murray Lightburn's band.

'Gang Of Losers', the new album, will be released on 9 August in the US and on the 26th in the rest of the world. Here is the current line-up: Murray Lightburn (vocals/guitar), Natalia Yanchak(keyboards), George Donoso III (drums), Martin Pelland (bass) (these all original members) with flutist and keyboardist Valerie Jodoin-Keaton and guitarist Patrick Krief.
