Al Anderson, long-time collaborator of Bob Marley since 1974 and author of the unmistakable opening notes of "No Woman No Cry"he is now a leading figure among those who hold high the torch of the Trench Town sound. The guitarist and bandleader has decided to bring together artists who have chosen to honour the history of reggae music, not by attempting to recreate it in a nostalgic way, but by taking its original spirit and intent and bringing it into the 21st century.
To share this journey with him, Al Anderson has chosen some very special companions. On keyboards is Tyrone Downiea veteran of the scene who joined Bob Marley & The Wailers in the mid-1970s and boasts a respectable CV with collaborations with The Abyssinians, Beenie Man, Black Uhuru, Buju Banton e Peter Tosh. On vocals and second guitar, the line-up features the Caribbean-born Puerto Rican Chet Samuelwho has played in some of the most popular contemporary reggae bands such as Addis Now e 506CREW and mixes Jamaican rhythms and R&B suggestions in his vocal style. Completing the team, on the rhythm section the former enfant prodige Rohan Reid (bass) and Howard Smith (drums) and female vocals, Erica Newell, known worldwide for her role in the band winner of three Grammy Awards Ziggy Marley & The Melody Makers.
In their performance, the sextet will play tracks from the ep 'Miracle"(MRG), published in 2012 and nominated to the Grammy Awards as Best Reggae Album, in conjunction with great classics from the past such as those from the album 'Legend', to draw a line of continuity with a path undertaken many years ago.
