THE RASMUS IN ITALY! ONLY SHOW IN NOVEMBER

Last year was truly memorable for the four young men from Helsinki. After 11 years together as a band, and at only 24 years old, they finally conquered Europe with their fifth studio album 'Dead Letters'. Over one and a half million copies sold worldwide, eight gold and five platinum records, placing in the top 10 in eleven countries with 'In The Shadows', which was also the most played video of the season by MTV. Also in Italy the album 'Dead Letters' and the single 'In The Shadows' earned gold recognition, and all singles from the album entered the best-selling CD charts (in addition to 'In The Shadows', these include 'Guilty', 'In My Life', 'First Day Of My Life' and 'Funeral Song'). In addition to two fantastic sold-out shows at C-Side in Milan and Tempo Rock in Gualtieri (RE).

Now the Finnish quartet returns with the long-awaited follow-up to 'Dead Letters' due out on 12 September. 'Hide From The Sun' is the sixth studio album by the Helsinki-based band. An album that shows new stylistic elements that fit into the now classic Rasmus sound, dark rock blends with bold arrangements of strings and piano, dominated by Lauri's voice that adds an almost melodramatic touch, close to the sound of the much-loved Muse. According to the band's statements, 'Hide From The Sun' was an easy album to write despite the pressure that comes with the extraordinary success of hits such as 'In The Shadows', 'Guilty' and 'First Day Of My Life', singles that launched the band worldwide and allowed the Finnish band to build a huge loyal following.
"This time there are more contrasts in our music - explains Lauri - there are beautiful melodies spiced with edgy lyrics and there are sweet, simple words accompanying intense music dominated by distorted guitars. We are really proud of the arrangements on the new album".

After a brief appearance at Live @ MTV on 4 September in Civitavecchia together with Korn, Rasmus will return to Italy in November for their only Italian concert. The date is set for Wednesday 9 November at the Rolling Stone in Milan.
