Last year they swept Milan and Rome with two incendiary shows; now, after announcing their participation in the Cinzella Festival in Grottaglie (TA) Sunday 13 August, the historic formation led by Andrew Eldritch confirmation of others two autumn dates in Italy: Thursday 2 November 2023 at Live Music Club in Trezzo sull'Adda (MI) e Friday 3 November at the Teatro Verdi in Cesena. The Sisters Of Mercy formed in 1980 in Leeds, England, taking their name from the Sisters of Mercy (sisters of mercy), the prostitutes in the song of the same name by Leonard Cohen: "We liked the ambiguity between the original meaning of the expression, which referred to an order of nuns, and that adopted by Cohen". explains the singer Andrew Eldritch. The disturbing soul of their music, which constitutes a fundamental page of the dark-rock e post-punk. Indeed, from the very first years of their career, the group established itself in the dark Olympus alongside bands such as Siouxsie and The Banshees, The Cure, Bauhaus e Joy Division. The shaman voice of darkness of Eldritch remains, along with those of Peter Murphy e Siouxsie Siouxamong the most exciting in the entire Gothic genre.
