Today Tom Odell reveals details of his upcoming European tour, the biggest of his career so far, which follows the announcement of his highly anticipated new album Black Fridayscheduled for release on 26 January on label UROK. The tour will start in Glasgow and will touch Italy in a unique opportunity, Thursday 4 April 2024 at Alcatraz in Milan. I tickets will be available on Ticketone e Ticketmaster from 11 a.m. on Friday 27 Octoberbut fans accessing the pre-order by Black Friday will have the opportunity to purchase them in advance from from 11 a.m. on Wednesday 25 October.
In his decade-long career Tom Odell has won major awards - including BRIT Award e Ivor Novello Award - thanks to five albums that have earned him 28 million monthly listeners on Spotify, 4 billion streams and 8 million followers on social platforms. The new album Black Friday marks the entry of Odell in a new phase of his career as a singer, songwriter, musician and producer. Imbued with a renewed sense of freedom and creative control, the record is a hypnotic kaleidoscope of tracks recorded in a very simple way by Tom in his studio, singing the songs the way they were written, with a guitar in his lap and an extraordinary authenticity. The drum and bass parts along with the beautiful string arrangements add to the sense of intimacy and longing that permeates the album. Black Friday will be a welcome return for long-standing fans, and will certainly win over new audiences.
Tom has already shared two samples of the new work with the world: Somebody Else, released when the album was announced last week, and the title track Black Friday which has to date totalled 20 million streams (of which 2 million in the first 24 hours) and 150 million views on TikTok. Odell had already gone viral on the platform in 2022 with Another Love, the soundtrack of more than 4 million videos, and became one of the anthems of protest videos against the war in Ukraine.
