With a new unreleased album released this year, entitled Lost Souls (Quinlan Road, 2018), the Canadian singer-songwriter returns to Italy Loreena McKennittwith a six-date summer tour throughout Italy. The unmissable dates for all fans of his music are for Saturday 20 July 2019 at MusArt Festival in Florence in Piazza S.S. Annunziata, Sunday 21 July at Arcimboldi Theatre, Milan, Monday 22 July at Folkest Festival at the Udine Castle, Wednesday 24 July at Sferisterio of Macerata, Thursday 25 July at the Roman Theatre of Ostia Antica (RM)e Friday 26 July at the Banchina San Domenico in Molfetta (BA).
Tickets will be available from from 3 p.m. on Friday 7 December on circuit Ticketone; for the Milan, Macerata and Molfetta dates also on the circuit Vivaticket. Be wary of unofficial sales channels!
About ten years after the release of his last unreleased album, Loreena McKennitt returned in May this year with a new work and is ready to present it around Europe, with a total of 25 concerts across ten countries including Spain, Germany and, indeed, Italy. The singer-songwriter has Irish and Scottish origins and it is these that have influenced her music, which draws inspiration from the Celtic folk songs to which she adds an international touch, with a surprising result that is appreciated all over the world.
In anticipation of his upcoming summer tour Loreena he said: "I'm excited to return to some of the places I've already visited in previous years and to see people I met on my previous tours, but also to perform in beautiful places I've never seen before." Moreover, the singer-songwriter will not be alone on stage, but will be accompanied by the musicians Brian Hughes (guitar, oud and Celtic bouzouki), Caroline Lavelle (cello), Hugh Marsh (violin),Dudley Philips (double bass) and Robert Brian (battery).
