One month after the release of the eleventh studio album 'Atoma' (Century Media Records), the Swedes Dark Tranquillity announce a single date in Italy in the company of Omnium Gatherum: Tuesday 28 March 2017 at the Revolver Music Hall in San Donà di Piave (VE).
It is hard to believe: the Dark Tranquillityone of the bands that started the Gothenburg SoundThey turn 27 this year. "When we started putting the band together in 1989, I was 15 years old," recalls vocalist Mikael Stanne. "The band was at the centre of my life before I became an adult. So naturally it has become more than just a natural instinct. It is an important part of who we are, and although we sometimes want to stop categorising and defining ourselves in a certain way, it is still very much present in us. I am perfectly comfortable with the idea of growing old, both as a band and as a person'.
With a new album, a new line-up and a fresher mindset, the Dark Tranquillity They are stronger now than six months ago; better than 10 years ago and more resilient than they were when they were just wide-eyed teenagers. 'Atoma' is the beginning of a new chapter, of a new life. With pieces like 'Forward Momentum', 'Force Of Hand', 'Our Proof Of Life' no one will be able to stop the Dark Tranquillity in 2016 and in the years to come.
I Dark Tranquillity are Mikael Stanne (vocals, guitar), Niklas Sundin (guitar), Anders Jivarp (battery), Martin Brändström (keyboards) and Anders Iwers (low).
