ONLY ITALIAN DATE FOR TANITA TIKARAM! TOMORROW AT THE SALUMERIA DELLA MUSICA

Six years after his last album, his velvety voice returns to the stage!

Tanita Tikaram, a talent from the eighties, after years of absence from the stage, is back with a European tour that will touch Italy, and in particular Milan, on 24 September 2011 at the Salumeria della Musica.

And that is exactly how his acoustic tour around Europe will be: playedIn 1988, when she was only 18 years old, she became famous with the hit song 'Twist in my sobriety', which sold millions of copies and earned her the title of 'child prodigy'. The Malaysian-born singer and songwriter has several albums to her credit, ranging from solemn melancholy to more joyful and carefree shades of pop. Among these, 'The Cappuccino Song', released in 1998, demonstrates her attachment to Italy, so much so that in a subsequent reissue of the album she will also include Battisti's 'E penso a te'. Musically, Tanita is still in 2005 with the release of her last work "Sentimental", a mature and enveloping album based on acoustic arrangements that complement her deep and almost sorrowful voice. An album that is not afraid to show time passing. An album with an authentic, almost ancient flavour, as Tanita herself says: "When I started thinking about how to record the songs, I started working with the most widespread digital editing software. It was certainly convenient, but it left me perplexed: I felt that the songs were missing something, so I decided to start from scratch and lay the foundations of an album. played. This solution turned out to be a winner in the end. . No distorted effects, no tricks, just soul and voice.
