The love for such an extraordinary and timeless musical heritage as Queen, the importance of freedom of thought, the will to change a destiny that seems already written, the saving power of Rock and Roll: all this and much more is WE WILL ROCK YOUone of the most performed musicals in the world, written by Ben Elton together with Roger Taylor e Brian Maywhich, after collecting 35,000 admissions in 30 performances in the first part of the 2023 tour, will return to Italy with new dates in major cities. A renewed group of performers is preparing to once again overwhelm audiences with all the energy of the songs by Queensung in the original language and played strictly live by an exceptional band of six musicians, for more than two and a half hours of show between explosive choreography, emotions and laughter, to make us reflect on the beauty of life. When all seems lost, when the world now works according to established patterns and no longer allows freedom of expression, someone or something comes along capable of shuffling the cards, because "the future is not written, the future depends on all of us".
Produced for Italy by Claudio Trotta for Barley Arts e directed by Michaela Berlini, We Will Rock You has proved a great success with audiences and critics alike, capable of renewing itself season after season thanks to the visionary and topical story it brings to the stage and a gallery of unforgettable characters.
In a dystopian future where music has been banned because it is considered dangerous by the powers that be as a symbol of unity and real sharing, a group of people very different from each other but united by the desire to resist the forces of conformism, find themselves rebels against their will and, struggling with frustrations and dreams, fight together to win the chance to give themselves a different life and a better future.
To the replicas already announced in some major Italian cities, we now add new dates in Sicily in 2024: Ragusa (5 January, Teatro Duemila); Palermo (7 January, Golden Theatre); Catania (9 January, Metropolitan Theatre).
