In a prolonged suspended time that we have all been experiencing since March 2020, Barley Arts decided that, after the postponement of the shows originally scheduled for last March, it was finally time to open sales for reruns of WE WILL ROCK YOU to be held 13 to 23 January 2022 at the CheBanca! Theatre in Milan. I tickets are available on the official circuits Ticketone, Ticketmaster e Vivaticket (online and points of sale) and at the ticket office of the CheBanca! National Theatre. Those in possession of a Barley Arts show voucher can now use it to purchase tickets for the new show.
The new season of We Will Rock You kicked off on 31 October 2019 from Teatro La Fenice in Senigallia and, before the outbreak of the health emergency, travelled through 12 Italian regions, thrilling an audience of all ages, captivated by the story of Galileo e Scaramouche and the overwhelming energy of the songs of the Queensung in English and performed strictly live by a band formed for the occasion.
The original play was written and produced by Ben Elton, in collaboration with Roger Taylor e Brian May.
The revision and implementation of the original text, translated by Raffaella Rolla, by Director Michaela Berlini, Valentina Ferrari and Producer Claudio Trotta have given the show reasons for popularity and interest on the part of an extremely transgenerational audience, enhancing the content and highlighting the topicality of topics such as social isolation, bullying, global warming, single-mindedness, cultural homologation and the oppressive daily presence of the web and the dominance of virtuality in everyone's life.
"In the light of what we are experiencing, it is easy to imagine that the text will be further implemented and updated and will certainly not be able to ignore what we have all experienced and will still experience.
The cast, ensemble and band will most likely be confirmed in their entirety and the tour will also visit other cities, which will be announced in the course of the tour, subject to a clear government decision regarding the reopening of the live show business and the necessary organisational and sanitary procedures" declares Claudio Trotta.
