05/11/09 : SOPHIE HUNGER: THE SWISS STAR WILL OPEN SKYE'S MILAN DATE

In Italy, she is still a niche name, but in neighbouring Switzerland, she is one of the most popular singers on the folk/pop scene. Italian audiences will get to know her better Sophie Hunger the 22 November at the Salumeria della Musica in Milanwhere he will perform before Skye's concert.

Born in 1983 in Bern and raised between London and Bonn, Sophie Hunger has had a very special musical journey. She took up music at the age of nine, then abandoned it only to take it up again ten years later, until the 2006 release of her first self-produced album 'Sketches On Sea'. Two years later he published 'Monday's Gosth'recorded in Brussels and produced by musician Marcello Giuliani, an album full of folk harmonies and rock sounds, with an elegant jazz touch. Sophie has never hidden her admiration for Jeff Buckley, whose sonic influences are easily traceable on both albums, along with those of other artists such as Bob Dylan and P.J. Harvey. 'Sketches In Sea' became a cult album in the Swiss underground music scene, so much so that it sold out on the tour that followed. With 'Monday's Gosth' Hunger took a decisive step for her career, distributing the album in Europe and playing in the major capitals of the Old Continent.

Sophie Hunger has decided to cross borders and sing for the first time in Italy, and will do so on a special occasion, namely at the opening of Skye's Milan performance.
