06/03/09:THE SISTERS OF MERCY KICK OFF A WEEK OF DARK AND SCORCHING SOUNDS

The band of Andrew Eldrtitch back to Italy Monday and Tuesday for two concerts in Milan and Bologna. As three years earlier, this tour will not be preceded by any new release but is intended as a pure desire to perform live again, without any promotional purpose.
The current formation of the The Sisters of Mercy sees, in addition to the leader Eldritch, Chris Catalyst and Ben Christo on guitars and 'Doctor Avalanche'. (the historical drum machine that accompanies their sound), which has always been presented in the band's official documents as a real element of the line-up.
The Sisters of Mercy were among the most prominent names in the new wave of the 80s, authentic pioneers of the industrial and gothic sound, which lived in that decade in England its best moment: it is enough to mention other names such as The Cure or Bauhaus, to understand the artistic scope of the movement.
With just three albums released between 1985 and 1990, The Sisters of Mercy made rock history: their debut album 'First and last and always', and the following two milestones 'Floodland' and 'Vision Thing' brought them worldwide success, not least thanks to the timeless hit 'Vision Thing'. "Temple of Love and, despite almost two decades of silence on the record, their legend is as strong as ever.
