Great result for 'In living Cover', the new album by Jay Brannanwhich jumped to the top of the I-Tunes chart in the 'Songwriter' category. It is the second studio work for the young American artist who will tour Italy 14 and 15 September in Milan and Rome respectively.
Born in Texas but raised in New York, Jay Brannan is the new face of American songwriting. He performed for the first time in Italy last October to present his debut album 'Goddamned'.
Brannan is known to the public for his participation in 'Shortbus', a 2006 film by John Cameron Mitchell that caused a scandal as soon as it was presented at the Cannes Film Festival. On that occasion, he starred as Ceth, a former model and aspiring singer, and played one of his own songs in the film, 'Soda Shop'which later became part of the film's soundtrack. Over the past three years, Jay has given up filmmaking to devote himself exclusively to music and the result was seen first with 'Goddamned', produced by Will Golden, and recently 'In Living Cover', out this week in Italian shops and already a hit on I-Tunes.
