After the three dates in Italy in 2006, which marked the return of the THE SISTERS OF MERCY on the scene, as well as their debut in the new millennium, singer Andrew Eldritch reignites what he calls 'an industrial groove machine'.
The numerous fans who packed the clubs two years ago witnessed a unique, uncompromising show: no concessions to modernity, the ambience made sombre by an excessive use of smoke machines, to say the least, and a hard-hitting sound that showed the more aggressive side of the British band.
As three years earlier, this tour will not be preceded by any new release but is intended as a pure desire to perform live again, without any promotional purpose.
The current formation of the The Sisters of Mercy sees, in addition to the leader Eldritch, Chris Catalyst and Ben Christo on guitars and the 'Doctor Avalanche' (the historical drum machine that accompanies their sound), which has always been presented in the band's official documents as a real element of the line-up.
I The Sisters of Mercy were among the most prominent names in the new wave of the 1980s, authentic pioneers of the industrial and gothic sound, which had its heyday in England in that decade: just mention other names such as The Cure o Bauhausto understand the artistic scope of the movement.
With only three albums released between 1985 and 1990 the The Sister of Mercy entered rock history: the debut 'First and last and always'and the following two milestones 'Floodland' e 'Vision Thing' have brought them worldwide success, thanks in part to the timeless hit "Temple of Love and, despite almost two decades of silence on the record, their legend is as strong as ever.
