Two years after their last Italian appearance, the KISS return to Milan for the only Italian date of the Sonic Boom Over Europe Tour.
Sold out for months and the enthusiasm of the Kiss Army await Paul, Gene, Eric and Tommy who present their fans with a much more varied and comprehensive setlist than on their previous tour, which was based almost entirely on the very first songs of their career.
Songs that had long been shelved, such as "Cold Gin", "Crazy Crazy Nights" and the anthem "God Gave Rock N' Roll to You".accompanied by a video tribute to the rock greats. And the most heartfelt tribute came directly from the words of Paul Stanleywho invited the eleven thousand present to once again invoke the name of Ronnie James Dio, disappeared only two days before.
As at any self-respecting Kiss concert, there is no shortage of 'classic moments', such as the fire-eating show Gene Simmons, the vampire's flight over 'Love it Loud' and Paul's glide, this time to the notes of 'I was Made for Lovin' You', instead of those of 'Love Gun' (however performed). Nor is there any shortage of solos between Eric Singer and Tommy Thayerconcluded this time by the drummer's bazzuka blow.
The Milan show was a crescendo: once the engines were warmed up, the four from NY gave us amazing versions of "Shout it out Loud", "Detroit Rock City" and the ever-present closing 'Rock & Roll All Nite'.
