The Stray Catson the occasion of their 30th anniversary, they announce The Stray Cats Farewell Tour and confirm their presence in national exclusive on Friday 22 August at Summer Jamboree 2008the international festival of music and culture of America in the 1940s and 1950s celebrated every year in the city of Senigallia (AN - Marche).
The Stray Cats from Long Island, Massapequa NY, are a historic rock'n'roll band from the 1980s. Their repertoire and look is reminiscent of 1950s America with punk influencesTheir music is a gritty blend of Elvis Presley-esque, Chuck Berry-esque sounds, combined with the notes of the Clash and the Ramones.
Discovered in a London club by producer Dave Edmunds, singer and guitarist of Rockpile, they released successful albums such as the two LPs 'Stray Cats' e 'Skirt Ball' of English production, released on Arista Records and the album 'Built For Speedrecorded in America in 1982. This work contains the singles 'Rock This Town' e 'Stray Cat Strut', songs that topped the American and British top ten throughout the 1980s.
Their last (live) release was in 2004, 'Rumble In Brixton', with the unreleased 'Mystery Train Kept A Rollin'' which was followed by a long 2007 tour together with the Pretenders and ZZ Top.
