The international press considers them one of the best newcomers of 2009 and the fan base is growing from the US to Europe. The Hockey, an American indie-pop quartet, will stop in our country on 12 November at Circolo Magnolia in Milanto present the debut-album 'Mind Chaos'.
It is 2004 when the singer/songwriter Benjamin Grubin and the bassist Jeremy 'Jerm' Reynolds became friends at the University of Redlands and decided to start a band, which was joined by guitarist Brian White, the drummer Anthony Stassi and the keyboardist Ryan Dolliver. Their passion for Bob Dylan-esque classic rock and new pop/dance trends provided the four of them with various cues, which shaped a hybrid sound to such an extent that they called themselves 'modern dance rockers'. After several home-made recordings, their debut album finally arrived. 'Mind Chaos'published in 2008 in America and coming to all of Europe, including Italy, under the label EMI. Boosting the group's popularity in recent months have been appearances at major international festivals, including South By Southwest, Lollapallooza, T in The Park e Glastonbury. The single 'Song Away' is currently in rotation on radio and major television stations, and listening to it immediately brings to mind sounds reminiscent of MGMT and Klaxons. It was precisely the rotation on MTV that enabled the band to be nominated as 'Best Push Artist' at MTV Europe Music Awards 2009 which will take place on 5 November in Berlin.
The world tour is recording several sold-outs and the only chance to see them live in Italy will be the Milan date.
