Acoustic metalworkers! The 3 December at Alcatraz in Milan, RODRIGO Y GABRIELA return to playing their classical guitars, after releasing their new album “11:11”follow-up to their award-winning debut album. Rodrigo y Gabriela: a man and a woman, lead guitarist he, virtuoso and innovative, rhythm guitarist she, incredibly precise and incisive with intricate and imaginative flamenco sections. Their concert is a spectacle for the eyes as well as the ears: unforgettable in fact were the two dates the two held in November 2007 in Milan and Rome.
"11:11" is a different album from its predecessor: 11 original songs of course, each inspired by a great artist, from Jimi Hendrix ("Buster Voodoo") to Astor Piazzolla ("Hora Zero"), via Carlos Santana ("Hanuman") and Al Di Meola ("Logos").
To underline their unsuspected metal attitude, underlined on their debut album by their cover of Metallica's 'Orion', on the new album Alex Skolnick (Testament's axe man) joins the duo on 'Atman', dedicated to the late Dimebag Darrel, Pantera's unforgettable guitarist.
The Mexican couple, currently on tour in the United States where they are enjoying extraordinary success, will be in Europe at the end of autumn and the one at Alcatraz in Milan will be their only stop in our country.
