They are back from a tour in which they set major US cities on fire and have no intention of stopping. In the second half of August, the Roman formation of Judas set off to conquer the new continent, performing, among others, in the clubs of Chicago, Buffalo e Philadelphia. The band has also had the privilege of sharing the stage with sacred monsters of the local hardcore-punk scene, such as Negative Approach, Dwarves, Meatmen e The Queers on the occasion of the Tesco Fest a Detroit. And that is not all: the last sold-out date of the tour on 2 September at the Cake Shop in New York, saw among spectators a special guest, AS Roma president James Pallottawho also came to hear the irresistible glam'n'roll of the Giuda.
Strengthened by the extraordinary response of the American public, the Judas are already ready for a new venture: Saturday 14 September awaits them at Madrid on DCODE Festivalwhich in just three years has become a reference point for indie-rock fans throughout Europe, and which this year sees among the top names Franz Ferdinand, Vampire Weekend, John Grant e Foals.
While waiting for new dates in our country, Judas will also perform in Switzerland, Saturday 21 September at Vulture Festival of Lugano.
I Giuda are five long-standing Roman rockers: almost two decades ago, some of them were already in Taxi, officially recognised as one of the best punkrock bands ever born in the capital, but it is under their current name that they have been able to express their full potential.
Take a dash of Slade, a handful of Cock Sparrer and a sprinkling of Slaughter & The Dogs, mix it with the immediacy of Motorhead and the mind-bending choruses of Kiss, and you're a little closer to understanding what he's made of. 'Racey Roller', their debut album, released in 2010 and already sold out in numerous reissues.
