The Sheffield crooner returns tonight to Milan with its new album 'Lady's Bridge'successor to that Cole's Corner that has made him known throughout Europe. He will open the concert Pablo Ciallella, who will perform on stage at the General Warehouses starting at 8.45 p.m.
The title track of 'Coles Corner' was Richerd Hawley's calling card for the Italian public, a radio hit dated December 2005 that the new hit 'Tonight the streets are ours' repeated without major problems: the first single extracted from the new album immediately entered the charts, as did the video, which has been among the most popular on music channels in recent weeks.
The true 'crooner' style has led the Sheffield musician to be compared to great names of the past, from Jonny Cash to theElvis more melancholic. In addition to being an accomplished singer, Richard Hawley is a great composer and respected guitarist. Prior to his experience as a soloist, there were several experiences both as a songwriter and as a musician for big names on the international pop scene, from Robbie Williams a Gwen Stafaniup to Nancy Sinatra.
He arrives tonight, 29 October, for one date only at Magazzini Generali in Milan, at the end of a tour that started two months ago in England, where Richard Hawley is a top star. With 150,000 copies sold, his 'Coles Corner' was nominated for a popular British arts award, the Mercury Prize.
His only previous Italian date was in November 2005, when he played at the Milan Conservatory.
Tickets still available from 7.30 pm at the Magazzini Generali box office.
