MIKA PHENOMENON

This is the second time in British history that a single has topped the charts, with digital sales alone! Mika jumped to #1 of the UK Top 40 Singles Chartwith his debut single 'Grace Kelly'. After entering at #3 last week, 'Grace Kelly' climbed to the top of the UK singles chart, calculated by cumulating both physical and digital sales, just a week before the physical release of the single, in shops on 29 January.
After Gnarls Barkley's 'Crazy', it is the second song in British music history to top the singles charts with digital sales alone. MIKA has been attracting media attention for several months now, so much so that he has been singled out as one of the most promising artists of 2007 by the British press.
Anticipation is high, especially for his debut album 'Life in Cartoon Motion'which will be published by Casablanca Record and released in Italy in early March.
"Grace Kelly" has become his trademark, a beautiful, eclectic and highly ironic 4/4 song, accompanied by a video directed by Sophie Mullerwho has already worked with major artists such as Beyonce, Coldplay and Gwen Stefani. The MIKA phenomenon is generating such great word of mouth that his Myspace page - www.myspace.com/mikamyspace - almost reached 700,000 contacts in less than six months.

A tour is also in the pipeline for Mika, initially touring England. There the attention is so high that many of the planned dates have had to be moved to larger venues to accommodate the huge demand!
