KULTUR SHOCK'S BALKAN ROCK COMES TO ITALY IN MARCH FOR THREE DATES

The new face of vagabond, hybrid and politically engaged music, the KULTUR SHOCK loudly announce their new world tour starting in Portland (on 18 January) and landing in the old continent on 19 March, in Berlin, then in Italy for three dates, 28 at C.S. Rivolta in Marghera (VE), 29 at Forte Predestino in Rome and 30 at Bloom in Mezzago (MI).
In recent years, Kultur Shock have updated their sound: from being an acoustic band in the 1990s, they have shifted their proposition towards a more driven and electrified sound. "It all started as a joke - confesses Gino Srdjan Yevdjevicleader and vocalist of the band - when some of us enjoyed reinterpreting our own culture and musical tradition, namely Balkan folk'..
With the passing years came the decision to make their music more current and international. Thus their first (self-produced) album 'Live in Amerika' adds to the strong Balkan sounds a punk timbre, a la Dead Kennedys.
In 2001 they signed a contract with the Koolarrow Recordsthe independent label of Billy Gould, bassist of Faith No Morestill their record company today, with which they also record 'Fucc The I.N.S.' in 2001, 'Kultura Dictatura' in 2004 and 'We Came To Take Your Jobs Away' in 2006.
To date, they have made seven European and three US tours, including one in 2006 as special guest of the Gogol Bordello. Now, a year after their first appearance in Italy on the stages of the Rock Festival in Tavagnasco (TO) and the Ariano FolkFestival in Ariano Irpino, they return to our country to present their latest album-live Live in Europe' for a triple date:

FRIDAY 28 MARCH - MARGHERA (VE) - C.S. RIVOLTA
SATURDAY 29 MARCH - ROME- FORTE PRENESTINO
SUNDAY 30 MARCH - MEZZAGO (MI) - BLOOM
