RENATO ZERO RECOUNTS HIS DREAM

"He was there all along. Hidden, in a kind of limbo. For often interminable periods. We kept him inside. Jealous. Terrified that someone might steal it from us. Understand its value and consistency and perhaps make it realisable, in spite of our laziness. Me, my Dream, I put it out there immediately. Without hesitation. Certainly unaware of the dangers it might have run. But in my heart I was so proud of him that I decided to risk it....

Everyone knows him today. Because I embodied him perfectly. My face: his mirror. My stage: his favourite hobby. He made himself loved beyond me. Managing to express himself even in my absence.
Forging solid alliances with my people. Engaging them in very courageous manoeuvres, towards a clear and radical change of thought.
From today, 29 May....I have decided! I am staging the Dream. To reward him and also to see from your faces, if you are still able to recognise him. You have seen him as a child, and perhaps you will be surprised to find him so grown up. So splendidly mature....a true phenomenon.

It will make a good impression in a time devoured by consumerism. Subjugated to the iron rules of business. Where only a few, significant alliances win the favour of the stock markets undisturbed, manoeuvring the 'barrels'. On the other hand, a profound insecurity seems to silence any desire for revenge. And to afford a dream, in these parts, is now more unlikely than ever. But when the opportunity arises, one can always fall back on 'frozen dreams' (complete with expiry date). Visions and abstractions in groups, with accompanist and interpreter. Satellite teleportation and a thousand other diabolical interpretations of malaise. There is something for everyone. For all ages. As long as you pay, you can choose the way, the day and with whom you enjoy the artifice. But those who have cultivated a Dream, with effort, and at their own expense... you certainly don't fool them.

My Dream, by the way, is not only not dead, but has even gained weight. That's why we have to hire a colony of bilge trucks (4 to be exact) and about 40 orderlies to carry him around. Does he eat? He has an inordinate appetite!!!! Between fuel, motorway tolls, servicing, coupons and various maintenance, I leave it to you to imagine how much the Creature costs me.
But we are approaching his birthday. Next 30 September, Signorino will turn 54 moons (excluding overtime), so I thought it only right to give him a tour.

Celebrating him on stage, there will be a host of artist friends and impeccable musicians such as: Stefano SENESI (on piano). Elio RIVAGLI (on drums). Rosario JERMANO (on percussion). Paolo COSTA (on bass). Giorgio COCILOVO (on guitars). Marco FORNI (on keyboards). The superlative Phil PALMER (on guitars). And Remo RIGHETTI (on programming and pro-tools). At the stage mixer: Stevan Martinovic. At the stage mixer Franco FINETTI. Light designer Billy BIGLIARDI. The interventions for Symphony Orchestra are written and conducted by Maestro Renato SERIO. And then, two great stars of Italian theatre and cinema: Giancarlo GIANNINI and Giuliana LOJODICE will recount: vices, heartbreaks, sollicities, weaknesses and virtues of my comic-alter-ego: the DREAM. And again... 12 dancers masterfully directed by the great Bill GOODSON and his assistant Simona MORGIA. Amid silks, taffeta, embroidery and trimmings: two 'great names' of Italian fashion: Roberto CAVALLI and Carlo PIGNATELLI. The magical theatrical tailoring of Gabriele MAYER. Together, to give shape, texture and colour to my music. While Cesare PACIOTTI will take care of my foot-baller. I apologise if it is still 'exaggeration' that animates me. But for you, who know me well, this is nothing new. My advantage is knowing how to take life head-on. To always be a smile ahead of tiredness. And so I go...I risk it. And this time I wanted to overdo it. A total body on my exploits: controversial and questionable. Yet lived with lucid coherence. With undeniable sincerity. Unlike me, the Dream does not wear make-up. And it does not allow itself to be transformed, least of all by the demands of the script. That is why I loved it... Because the Dream is the only serious thing. The only uncontaminated space. A truce! And he...for me...still remains...the most incredible reality.
If you come to Milan. To Verona. To Florence. In Rome, you will understand why...I never stopped....SOGNARE!!!!
