The British tour of the Strokeswith their last date at London's Hammersmith Apollo. Like good New Yorkers, the Strokes surprisingly played a cover of the band that most influenced the band's last work, First Impressions of Earth. Those present thus enjoyed an inflammatory version à la Strokes of the song 'Life's A Gas' of the great Ramonesintroduced by these words of Julian Casablanca: "Tonight we are doing something new, a tribute to another New York band that I'm sure you also love".
Exceptionally, the unusual live version of the band as a duo was also rehearsed during the evening, when Casablancas on the keyboard and Nick Valensi on guitar performed 'Ask Me Anything‘.
