ALL THE SOUNDS OF THE WORLDIN JUNE OI VA VOI IN ITALY

An incredible variety of sounds is about to invade Italy from 4 to 6 June. In fact, the OI VA YOU with their musical nuances ranging from electronic to Klezmer, dub to pop.
The band's acclaimed debut dates back to 2003: the album Laughter Throught Tearsaccompanied by vibrant live shows and appearances at various festivals, took Oi Va Voi to the top of the charts.
Twenty months later, Oi Va Voi have regrouped and regenerated with a new label, a new producer and new members in the band. The result is a second album that expands their musical timbre with a new range of colourful and lively sounds. Recorded between Israel and London, this new album clarifies ideas, classifying them as a band outside any previous classification.

Oi Va Voi formed in late 1990, when trumpeter Lemez Lovas, the drummer Josh Breslawthe bass player Leo Bryant, the clarinettist Steve Leviguitarist Nik Ammar and the violinist Sophie Solomon combine their diverse musical influences, creating a sound with jazz, hip-hop, rock, drum n bass and 'jewish klezmer' rhythms. With the exceptional participation of singer K.T.Tunstalltheir debut album combines modern dance music with detailed singer-songwriter philosophy and refined Jewish, Eastern European and Mediterranean sounds: Laughter Throught Tears gets numerous reviews and wins two nominations at the BBC Radio 2 awards for world music.

At the end of 2004, KT Tunstall left the band, embarking on a solo career, followed shortly afterwards by Sophie Solomon. The recording of the second album came to a standstill. The rest of the band thus decided to open up to new influences, collaborating with more well-known figures in the music world, such as the singer Alice McLaughlin, the Nazareth Orchestra, Hungarian folk singer Agi Szaloki, producer Mike Spencer, violinist Haylie EckerThe Oi Va Voi family is expanding and the second album is finally taking shape, between Israeli and London territories. Its release is expected on 27 April.
