Exactly in March 2007, Joe Bonamassa embarked on his first real Italian tour. He returns a year after his first with already two very successful tours behind him. In fact, after the first four dates in March 2007, Joe was among the big stars of last summer's European blues festivals, with no fewer than six concerts in Italy between 15 and 21 July.
The latest album 'Sloe Gin', released just before the summer and for nine weeks at the top of the Billboard blues charts, confirms the rise of this great guitar talent, whose name is included in the BLUES FOUNDATION BOARD despite their very young age.
After being elected by BB KING his only true heir, debuted in 2000 with the album 'A New Day Yesterday' a work influenced by the sound of ALLMAN BROTHERS and the LYNYRD SKYNYRD. However, it is with the second 'So, It's Like That' which takes the number one position in the Blues Chart by Billboardrepeating the result with subsequent 'Blues Deluxe' (collection of covers to celebrate 2003, 'The Year of Blues') and 'Hard To Cry'.
In addition to his solo output, it is impossible to talk about JOE BONAMASSA without mentioning his illustrious collaborations with BUDDY GUY, GREGG ALLMANN and ARETHA FRANKLIN, plus ROD STEWART, ERIC CLAPTON and JASON BONHAM (son of the great JOHN, drummer of Led Zeppelin).
The Album 'You and Me' of 2006 is the worldwide consecration, achieving great results in Italy as well.
An appointment therefore to mark in the diary for all rock/blues fans.
On stage with Joe: Carmine Rojas (bass), Hargrove Bowles (drums), Rick Melick (keyboards).
