ALL THE MAGIC OF LOREENA McKENNITT IN MARCH FOR THREE DATES

After several years of silence, he returns to play live in Italy LOREENA McKENNITT, the Canadian singer and songwriter, creator of a musical genre that she herself defines as eclectic Celtic. A long-awaited tour, exactly 9 years after the one in 1998, which Loreena took to 8 concerts in as many theatres in Italy, completely sold out.
I three concerts in Italya country to which Loreena has always been particularly attached, are part of a 17-date European tour that will start on 11 March in Stuttgart and will take her around Europe until 4 April (last stop at the Cirque Royal in Brussels).

The tour follows the release of the new album by a few months AN ANCIENT MUSE (2006, Universal Italia) Loreena McKennitt's seventh studio release, the last volume of a project she describes as 'a musical travelogue', as was her previous The Book of Secrets (inspired by Dante's work).
This time the journey, of Homeric inspiration (it recalls the Odyssey), takes her in search of the more oriental paths of the Celts, whose history and tradition have always been at the heart of the artist's musical research.
Recorded at Real World Studios with the participation of many acclaimed musicians, the album offers a treasure trove of instruments, from harp to hurdy-gurdy, accordion to oud, lyre, kanoun and nickelarpa (a Scandinavian fretted violin).
Highlights include the seductive rhythms and Silk Road influence in the first single, "Caravanserai"; "Penelope's Song"., an ode to steadfast love; and Loreena's musical atmosphere for the poem about love born under a bad star, "The English Ladye And The Knight. Together, the nine tracks included in An Ancient Muse recall a whole world of human stories that are as unique as they are unforgettable.
